   General Arena Rules
Captain's Responsibilities

Team captains are always responsible for their team. Due to the limited staff, this ladder is going to depend heavily on the leaders of each clan to take resposibility for their team and handle every aspect of interactivity between other teams. We are happy to help, but please handle as much on your own as possible. Ladder staff will be available if a situation does arise.

When placing a challenge a team captain will also send private messages on this board. Captains are encouraged to check their messages daily. The challenging team will suggest a day for the match, and while the challenged team is encouraged to work with the other team, the ultimate decision of match day and time fall to the challenged team's captain.

Failure to complete a match within 2 weeks (see inactivity, below) will result in the challenged team being placed on the inactive list. The challenging team will take the spot on the ladder and the challenged team will be placed on the inactive list.

If your team is not inactive, but still cannot complete the match in the two weeks allowed, you may choose to forfeit and trade spots with the challenging team.

At the end of every official game, captains are responsible for getting their teams scores. Keep a pencil and paper handy. You should get the round scores and each of your team members scores for the record. If you wish to copy down the opposing teams scores for verification, you may do that also. Please inform your team to keep track of their own scores in the case that you are unable to jot them all down in time. These scores will be reported in the match results within one hour of match completion. When reporting the scores, do not gloat. Any posts reporting these numbers may be edited by the administrator. Be fair, be kind, and be honest.

Captains are also responsible for making sure their teams know the rules, especially the no glitching rule. Please control your teams.

Glitching

First and foremost, no glitching. Everyone knows what a Glitch is in a game. We are going to have zero tolerance on this. Let's keep these matches fair.

Inactivity

Any team that fails to respond for two weeks without prior notification of extenuation circumstances (vacations, illness, etc)will be dropped ranks depending on the ladder they are competing in. Failure to remain active for 4 weeks, will see your clan labelled inactive and lose your ranking. At least two leaders are encouraged for each clan to avoid any mistakes in this area.

If you are placed on the inactive list, you are not done. You just get to start over. Upon your request to start up again, you will be put in last place and may begin your climb to the top again.

Rosters

All active players must be on your roster sheet on your clan profile here, before participating in any clan matches. It takes a matter of minutes to invite them into your clan, so please take advantage of this, by adding the players to your clan roster as soon as possible.

If a team does not have enough players online by 10 minutes after the scheduled match time, the official rule is to play with an incomplete team. The complete team may, but is not required to, amend this rule to their satisfaction (play with less players themselves or allow a sub from someone's friends list).

Communication

We have all hoped for a better ladder for some time now. The last thing we need is for anyone to get discouraged. Please keep the trash talking to a minimum and be a good sport. All complaints will be taken seriously.

Sportsmanship

As mentioned above, unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Valid complaints will be handled as follows.
  • 1st offense - Team captain will handle any discipline.
  • 2nd offense - Ladder Administrator will handle discipline, offending player will be suspended from play for 15 days.
  • 3rd offense - Ladder Administrator will handle discipline, offending player will be suspended for 30 days.
  • 4th offense - Offending player will be banned from the ladder.

This includes but is not limited to sexist/racist remarks, abusive trash talking, overly sexual or offensive language. As in life what is considered inappropriate is judged solely by the person hearing it. Any complaints will be kept confidential and taken seriously. Our staff are volunteers, so please do waste their time with lies. We want a fair community ladder, with honest teams.

No Shows

Failing to show up at a scheduled match will result in a forfeit. The absent team will be allowed a 15 minute grace period. The present team may wait any additional time they wish, but are not required to honor the match after the grace period expires.

Double Clanning

Some people have more free time than others. However to avoid conflicts when two teams do battle, you may only be on one team roster in any given ladder. If you wish to participate in more than one clan, please choose one for each ladder. There are many ladders available at World of Clans, and we encourage players to get involved in as many as they wish. Our only request is that each player only be listed once in any given ladder. Please make any captains aware of your other team to avoid any scheduling conflicts.

Scrimages

Even though the official rankings will limit who you can challenge, you may choose to challenge any team to a scrimage. While this does not count toward any standings, it can help captains to size up their teams, see where they are weak, and see some other strong strategies to use. Scrimages, while encouraged, may be refused without consequence. NOTE: Do not arrange a scrimage if your clan has an upcoming ranked match, this may affect your rankings.

Disputes

Any disputes will ultimately be handled by the ladder's staff. Teams, by agreeing to participate in this ladder also agree to follow any decision made by the staff regarding any dispute. Our staff are from with in the community, and are acting on your behalf to run these ladders smoothly for you.
